He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Boise State University and a Master’s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Utah State University. He has worked as a Social Worker, Volunteer Coordinator, and Training Specialist for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. He also worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the Idaho Industrial Commission. After twenty-five years as the Regional Vocational Development Manager for Deseret Industries he recently retired.
His hobbies include Geocaching, RV’ing, mountain biking, snow skiing and back-packing. He is a volunteer Special Olympics coach.

He has a BS in Workforce Education from the University of Southern Illinois, and a Masters Degree in National Security Studies: Homeland Security and Defense, from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. History records that the last battle of the Civil War was fought on the red clay soil of the Rio Grande River at Palmito Ranch, near Brownsville, Texas. That battle took place in mid-May 1865, more than a month following General Lee s surrender at Appomattox, Virginia.
